The Grand Canyon - south rim

We explored the Grand Canyon south rim east of the visitor centre today; tomorrow we´ll walk the rim trail west of the centre for about 8 miles.  No matter what lookout you are at, the view is certainly great. We are NOT going to walk down into the canyon to Plateau Point as it´s an 8-12 hour walk and Graeme is still recovering from a ghastly rash that left his skin so tight behind the knees he could barely walk.  He´s on the mend now with anti-histamines and cortisone cream.  We will have to make do with the Imax show to see the views from the canyon floor.  Here´s a few photos but they do not do it justice - it is 10 miles wide, a mile deep and over 200 miles long.
